Gatekeepers are the serve team members of the Springs Church. They are crucial to the operation of the church each week and play an essential role in ensuring that anyone who enters through our doors can have a warm and comfortable experience.

As a Gatekeeper you can serve in various different places within the church. Ushers, hospitality, connections, Springs Coffee Co., media, worship and parking team are among some of the opportunities to make a difference.

Why "Gatekeepers"?

One of the very first things Nehemiah did after he finished rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem was appoint Gatekeepers at all the gates. This was a vital role in the community. The Gatekeepers offered clear direction to anyone entering the community. They also provided security, practiced hospitality, and protected the unity of the community.

Why be a Gatekeeper?

As a Gatekeeper, you are entrusted with much more than simply doing a task. You are a frontline representation of The Springs Church with the call of God to offer direction, provide security, practice hospitality, and protect the unity of this house. A Gatekeeper is engaged in the life of the community and takes ownership of the vision of The Springs Church.

The Second Coming of Christ

In the blessed hope, the imminent return of Christ for overcoming believers.

Sinfulness of Man

In the fall and sinfulness of man and that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the redeeming blood of Christ.

The Holy Spirit

- Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential to personal salvation.
- Divine healing is available through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross.
- In the full operation of spiritual gifts. These gifts are given to believers for the encouragement, edification, and exhortation of the church body and are to be exercised decently and in order as prescribed in scripture.
- The Church of Jesus Christ is the universal, spiritual body of believers from every tribe, tongue, kindred and race of peoples, and is indwelt by God through the Holy Spirit and divinely empowered to fulfill ministry and her Great Commission on earth.
- In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.

Eternity

- In the resurrection and final judgment of both the saved and the lost, the saved to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting damnation.
- In the new heavens and the new earth and the holy Jerusalem, the city of God, descending out of heaven and filled with the glory of God.

Christian Growth

Christian growth can only be realized by faith in the promises of God.

Water Baptism and Communion

We practice two ordinances:
- Water Baptism by immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving the gift of salvation.
- Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.
